Reggaeton : Laura

She is very nice, shares a positive energy and always brings a smile to the shop. At the beginning when you meet her she seems very shy, but when you get to know her better, she will surprise you. And yes, like most Spanish people, she can’t live without Reggaeton.

What is your nickname?

Lalu, I am not really sure why but people keep calling me Lalu

What languages do you speak?

English, Spanish and a little bit Italian.

Where were you born?

I was born in Zaragoza, a beautiful city in the north of Spain. Most of my family still lives there.

Why people tighten the remote control more strongly, when it is running out of batteries?

No idea, but actually I do it as well.

What’s the first thing you think about when you wake up?

That I need to go to the toilet.

Which is your favourite place in the world? 

If I think of a place I have already been to I would say Riga. I did Erasmus there and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

How do you start a conversation?

By asking “which one is your favourite beer?” (laugh)

What is the longest you have gone without sleep?

Two days, I was partying and the day after I had a family lunch that I couldn’t skip. It was kind of hard time.

What’s your favourite food?

Paella.

Pedalling?

How many times do you breathe in a minute?

I really don’t know, fifteen?

Which one is your favourite TV show?

At the moment I’m watching Orphan Black and I really like it.

Netflix or online streaming?

Netflix.

Beach or mountain?

That’s a difficult one! I love the beach but I get tired of it after a couple of days in a row, even if I think it is the best place to relax. Anyway, I think I am more into mountains.

Hot or cold?

Definitely hot.

What’s your favorite word?

Smile.

Beer, wine or cocktail? 

Mainly beer, but a gin tonic from time to time is always nice.

What am I going to do tomorrow?

What is the first thing you did when you came to Amsterdam?

I remember it was a rainy day and I got lost looking for my new apartment.

Airplane, car, spaceship, boat, motorcycle, walk, bicycle, hover, subway or teleportation? 

Teleportation, and if I can choose the second one it will always be the bike.


What was the last gift you gave to someone and when?

It was a two litters bottle of beer to one of my friends

Do you like your job and why?

I really like it, while I am at the shop I really like to listen to people experience, they always come up with something interesting. While I work in social media I have the opportunity to improve my skills and I am working with the two things I love the most: bikes and communication.

Can you recall your favorite customer while at A-bike and why? 

It was one of my first weeks working at A-Bike. A super nice couple from Costa Rica came in and we were chatting for about half an hour. In the end, they invited me to visit them in Costa Rica, and they gave me some local coins so I have a reason to go.

What makes you wanna sleep?

Thinking that I need to wake up early in the morning. I am like a bear, I could hibernate all winter.

What is the average number of sips a person needs to drink a pint of beer?

Nine?

Cat woman, she is a superwoman.

What are you currently working on in your free time?

I am doing an audiovisual report related to Amsterdam and bikes.

A penguin comes into the shop and asks to rent a bike, what do you do? 

I will ask him to bring me with him, I would love to know where he lives. 

Do you feel lucky or unlucky and why?

I think I’ve been lucky, I am where I want to be and I have more than I need.

What inspires you? 

I get inspired by listening to chill music.

What is your favorite fruit? 

Apple.

Which is your favorite video game?

It is a children’s game called Madagascar. It is quite similar to Mario Kart, you drive a car using Madagascar’s characters.

Have you ever date a customer?

No.

Do you believe in time machines?

I believe they will exist in the future but I don’t think I will have the opportunity to use one.

How do you define stress and what do you do to tackle it?

For me, stress is when I have too many things to do and my head can’t stop thinking about them, yet I can’t focus on doing any of them. To tackle stress I write down everything I need to do and I start doing one by one. I like to cross things off the list.

Which would be the next three countries you would like to travel to?

Thailand, Peru, and Argentina.

What do you think about Dutch people?

They are tall, very tall. Blond with blue eyes and always smiling. They are very nice.
